Terms of Service

1. Who we are

NoteHeads.in ("NoteHeads," "we," "us") provides music education and composition tools, including NoteSwar, NoteSwap, Prof. NoteHead, and ShowerHead Mic (collectively, the "Services"). By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to these Terms.

2. Accounts

• You need a Google account (or an email/password account, where offered) to sign in. You're responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account.
• You must be old enough to consent to data processing under the laws of your country, or have a parent/guardian's permission to use the Services.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the Services, or engage in behavior that's harmful to other users.

3. Your content

Compositions, recordings, study history, and other material you create or upload ("Your Content") remain yours. By using the Services, you grant NoteHeads a limited license to store, process, and display Your Content back to you (and, where you explicitly enable sharing — e.g. a NoteSwar collaboration room — to the people you share it with) solely to operate the Services. We don't claim ownership of Your Content and we don't sell it.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Services to infringe someone else's copyright or other rights;
• Attempt to access another user's account, institution, or data without authorization;
• Interfere with or disrupt the Services (e.g. attempting to overload our servers);
• Use the Services for anything unlawful, or to harass or harm others.

5. Institutions and billing

Schools and teachers may purchase institutional plans that grant seats to their students. Payments are processed by Razorpay (for customers billed in India) or Dodo Payments (for international customers) — we don't store your card details ourselves. Points, streak savers, and similar in-product currencies have no cash value and aren't redeemable outside the Services.

6. Streaks and streak savers

Your streak counts consecutive days of active practice. In Prof. NoteHead, a day only counts toward your streak if you complete at least one quiz or one flashcard set that day — signing in, browsing, or chatting with Prof. NoteHead alone does not extend it. The dashboard's broader practice log reflects any recorded activity across NoteSwar, NoteSwap, Prof. NoteHead, and ShowerHead Mic, and may not always match Prof. NoteHead's own streak count, since the two track different things.

New accounts start with 100 points. After that, you earn 15 points once per day simply for opening NoteHeads (no other action required), plus 5 points for every 10 minutes you spend actively using the app with the tab open and visible. Points can be redeemed for streak savers, or you may purchase streak savers directly. Points and streak savers have no cash value, aren't transferable or redeemable outside the Services, and aren't refundable once purchased or redeemed. We may adjust these amounts or how they're earned at any time.

7. Third-party AI features

Prof. NoteHead's chat and study-material generation are powered by a third-party language model provider. Messages you send to Prof. NoteHead may be processed by that provider to generate a response. Don't share sensitive personal information in chat that you wouldn't want processed by a third party.

8. Disclaimers

The Services are provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't guarantee the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, NoteHeads won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Services. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Services is limited to the amount you paid us (if any) in the 12 months before the claim arose.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use the Services after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
